Launch Conference of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR)
The Square Conference Centre, rue Mont des Arts, 1000 Brussels | 18/11 2014
The aim of the event - which takes place after the endorsement of the EUSAIR by the European Council – is gathering all key actors to create the framework for its implementation. The governance and management structures of the Strategy, currently under development, will be organised around its four pillars, namely: "Blue Growth", "Connecting the Region" (Transport and Energy), "Environmental Quality" and "Sustainable Tourism".
Prominent national, local and international authorities, including the European Commission, speak in this Conference, chaired by the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs. The institutional session is followed by a technical plenary session addressed to the key implementers (national and regional authorities responsible for the EUSAIR and the management of EU funds, EU institutions, regional organisations and bodies). This is a timely opportunity to present how the Strategy will be structured, at its different levels, and to gather useful inputs to outline a well-performing system, in the framework of a multi-level governance.
The Launch Conference of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) is organised by the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, in cooperation with the European Commission, and together with the Adriatic and Ionian Initiative and Marche Region (as Presidency of the Adriatic-Ionian Interregional Group in the Committee of the Regions).
This website is dedicated to the EU Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region (EUSAIR) and managed by the Government Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Development and European Cohesion Policy, acting as a lead partner of the strategic project “EUSAIR Facility Point – supporting the governance of the EUSAIR”.
