23rd – 24th September 2026

On 23 and 24 September 2026, Budapest, Hungary, will host the international conference “Towards Sustainable Mobility: Hydrogen and Alternative Fuel Solutions for Transport”, jointly organised by EUSDR Priority Area 1b – To Improve Mobility and Multimodality: Road, Rail and Air Links and Priority Area 2 – To Encourage More Sustainable Energy.

The conference will bring together representatives of national administrations, European institutions, international organisations, industry, academia and project partners to discuss the role of hydrogen and alternative fuels in advancing the transition towards cleaner, more resilient and sustainable transport systems across the Danube Region. The event will provide a platform for exchanging knowledge and experience, showcasing innovative solutions and strengthening cooperation in support of the European Green Deal, the Fit for 55 package and the REPowerEU objectives.

The programme will feature four thematic sessions covering hydrogen and alternative fuel technologies across different transport modes, good practice examples from the Danube Region, flagship projects and innovative solutions, as well as regulatory frameworks, financing opportunities and cross-border cooperation for clean transport.
