ABOUT EU Strategy for Adriatic and Ionian Region

EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) is a practical cooperation framework that brings together ten countries around the Adriatic and Ionian seas to work on common goals like protecting the environment, improving transport and energy connections, and boosting tourism and the economy. The strategy focuses on cooperation, so people, ideas, and skills can flow across borders. It also works to strengthen communities and reduce inequalities, making sure everyone benefits from progress. By working together, the region becomes stronger, more sustainable, and better prepared for the future. In short, EUSAIR helps create opportunities and a better quality of life for everyone living in this area.

What is the added value of the Strategy

The EU Strategy for Adriatic and Ionian Region brings countries of the Adriatic-Ionian region together to solve common challenges in a way no single country could achieve alone. Its greatest added value is that it creates a coordinated, crossborder approach to improving everyday life—better connections, a healthier environment, stronger economies and more opportunities for people across the region. By aligning national efforts, policies and investments, EUSAIR helps countries work more efficiently and avoid duplicating work, making development faster and more costeffective.
