Skills Portability Initiative
The European Commission has launched a public consultation on the upcoming Skills Portability Initiative, which aims to make skills more transparent and support skilled workers in moving and working more easily across Europe.
The initiative seeks to explore ways to:
📲 Digitalise learning credentials
📜 Improve the transparency of skills and qualifications
🧑🏭 Modernise the recognition processes for regulated professions
🗂️ Simplify procedures for recognition of qualifications and skills for non-EU nationals.
The Commission is inviting workers, employers, and other stakeholders to share the real-world barriers they encounter when working or hiring across borders.
📆 The questionnaire and call for evidence are open until 27th February 2026.
