The event, promoted by the Central European Initiative, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region, with the support of the Coordinator of Pillar II – Transport – of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region, is organised as part of the broader Green Ports initiative.
In the context of evolving environmental regulations, digitalization, and decarbonization pathways, human capital is emerging as a key factor in ensuring the long-term sustainability of the maritime sector. For this reason, the workshop aims to explore the skills and training strategies needed to support the green transition of port systems in the Adriatic-Ionian area.
Specifically, the workshop aims to:
- Identify the most in-demand green skills and professional profiles in the port sector;
- Analyze EU-level forecasts and macro-regional trends in green employment;
- Present best practices related to training programs, curricula, and institutional partnerships;
- Foster cross-sectoral dialogue and co-create a shared story map to facilitate skills alignment;
- Contribute to the development of a roadmap for an integrated skills strategy in the Adriatic-Ionian port cluster.
The workshop will feature the participation of representatives from ports, vocational training institutions, universities, and European institutions.
