The first part of the seminar was characterized by the interventions of the representatives of the institutional framework of the EUSAIR governance: Joanna Moliou for DG Regio of the European Commission, Loredana Capone Councillor for Tourism and Culture of the Puglia Region and Blanka Belosevic Coordinator of Pillar IV of the EUSAIR strategy.
The representatives of the Coordination Office of the Pillar IV marked the second part of the seminar with the insights on the activities carried out by the EUSAIR Pillar IV. Blanka Belosevic, specifically, highlighted the mono pillar and cross pillar strategic projects, on coordination activities with other Pillars and about programs and initiatives for the future. The thematic expert Vlasta Klaric focused on the analysis of cultural products and the possibilities of developing such products by linking these processes with the development of cultural itineraries.
The third part was defined by the interventions of the representatives of stakeholder networks in the Adriatic Ionian Area. The first was done by the Director of the Department of Tourism, Economy of Culture and Territorial Enhancement Aldo Patruno, who described the processes of designing, financing and implementing sustainable tourist and cultural routes in Puglia. The General Secretary of the Forum of the Chambers of Commerce of the Adriatic Area Michele de Vita and Lia Giambrone, Director of the Tourism Observatory of the Sicily Region fixed their intervention on the cooperation and good practices about public and private stakeholders for sustainable tourism. The Director of the Phoenicians Route Antonio Barone focused on the opportunities for the adoption of the Phoenicians’s Route sustainable tourism approach for the EUSAIR Countries. The completion of the speeches was assigned to Dott. Piacentino Ciccarese, EUSAIR referent for Puglia Region, who reviewed the issues and ideas heard and gave insights for develop the opportunities given by the work done so far by the EUSAIR coordination.
