The video conference meetings of National and Pillar Coordinators to discuss and confirm the flagships to be embedded into the IPA/ESIF programming documents started on 26 May 2020 with Pillar 3 – Environmental Quality and Pillar 2 – Connecting the Region/subgroup Transport is continuing today with the second round of debates, opening up by Pillar 4 – Sustainable Tourism.
Pillar 1 – Blue Growth is proposing, in line with the 3 priority areas of the Pillar, 3 flagships with concrete actions countries will meet at national level to follow common goal/solutions for the region.
F1 – Fostering quadruple helix ties in the fields of marine technologies and blue bio-technologies for advancing innovation, business development and business adaptation in blue bio-economy, covers the priority 1 – Blue technologies.
F2 – Promoting Sustainability, Diversification and Competitiveness in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors through education, research & development, administrative, technological and marketing actions, including the promotion of initiatives on marketing standards and healthy nutritional habits, following priorities 2a – Fisheries and 2b – Aquaculture.
F3 – Bolstering capacity building and efficient coordination of planning and local development activities for improving marine and maritime governance and blue growth services, tackling priority 3 – Maritime and marine governance and services.
The contribution of Thematic Steering Group 1 and all the additional argumentation offered by Pillar Coordinator was apprised by the participants of the meeting.
