Cities across Europe are facing increasingly complex challenges — from climate adaptation and energy transition to housing, inclusion and sustainable mobility.

A new call for proposals under the European Urban Initiative – Innovative Actions is now open, supporting cities willing to test bold, creative and transferable solutions in their local contexts.

This call provides EU funding for projects that:
• Address pressing urban challenges
• Pilot innovative and experimental approaches
• Generate knowledge that can be replicated across Europe
• Strengthen integrated and participatory urban development

Through this initiative, the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy continues to support cities as laboratories of innovation — enabling them to design, test and scale solutions that contribute to sustainable and resilient urban development.

Submit your proposal until 15 June 2026.
