The 6th EUSAIR Forum resulted among others in an invitation to participate at the Croatia's morning show: Dobro jutro, Hrvatska - Jutarnji kolegij.
Invitation was provided to our guest speaker on the Inspirational Dialogue: The future of the Adriatic-Ionian region – dr. Lučka Kajfež Bogataj, 2007 Joint Recipient of Nobel Peace Prize and more importantly to Natalija Havidić, Director General for Strategic Planning, Digitalization and EU funds Ministry of Tourism and Sport, which was presenting EUSAIR’s efforts and goals with the main focus on Pillar 4 – Sustainable tourism and its project, flagships. Proving that steps are already taken in the direction of Green Deal and perservation of the environment in the region with establishing better balance between economy and sustainability in the tourism sector.

However the change starts with single one of US!
They agreed that we need to approach the Zero-emission task more responsibly by avoiding unnecessary traveling by car, even if it is an electric one. Electricity for those is rarely produced in a green manner, even if we leave the issues with batteries completly out of the picture. If you are interested in the topic, you can learn more HERE.
Strategies related to sustainable tourism shall address the need for harmonized distribution of tourism flows through all macro-regional territories, create innovative diversified tourism products, support the development of cycling, walking/hiking and sailing routes that would better connect all EUSAIR cultural routes and ultimately expand the tourist season to all-year round activity. More on EUSAIR flagships for sustainable tourism is available HERE.
The importance on being aware of co-dependence in the region was nicely explained by the 3rd guest of the morning show – dr. sc. Darko Znaor, Expert in Sustainable and Ecological Agriculture and Agricultural Analyst, claiming that for example the acidity of the land knows no national borders and is therefore a concern to be taken indiscriminately and consciously by all neighbours.
Congratulations to Croatia for a great media break-through!
Hopefully all EUSAIR participating countries will follow this wonderful example, since we have plenty of goals to be discussed and all opinions are valueable on our common macro-regional path towards green future for young generations to come!
