Key speakers include Prof. Drosos Koutsoubas from the University of the Aegean, Mr. Rezart Kapedani (SANE 27 project), and Mr. Stavros Kalognomos (CPMR), who will discuss how upskilling in blue economy sectors, from sustainable tourism and spatial planning to small port and marina services, can drive local development and socio-economic resilience.
Following the panel discussion, from 16:00 to 16:30, a special session on the Pact for Blue Economy will take place, highlighting progress toward establishing a Regional Skills Partnership for Sustainable Blue Economy in the EUSAIR region.
The Pact aims to align education, training, and employment initiatives with emerging blue economy sectors, ensuring that local populations are well-equipped to participate in and benefit from sustainable economic growth. Contributions from Mr. Arturo Incerti (DG MARE), Mr. Georgios Emmanouil (DG REGIO), and Dr. Michael Chatziefstathiou will offer insights into European Commission initiatives and the strategic roadmap ahead.
This event marks a significant step in building a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future for the Adriatic-Ionian coastal and inland communities.
