On 19 March, representatives from North Macedonia, Albania, Greece, the European Commission, UNDP and PONT, together with EUSAIR Pillar Coordinators, gathered to reaffirm their commitment to the Ohrid-Prespa region and to accelerate joint actions under the EUSAIR Strategy.
The meeting highlighted:
🔹 strong political commitment of the three countries,
🔹 presentations of key achievements supported by the EU and regional partners,
🔹 contributions from Pillar 3 (Environment & Biodiversity) and Pillar 4 (Sustainable Tourism).
🔹 the crucial role of EGTCs in local development,
🔹 and the next steps towards developing a cross border CLLD strategy with concrete early win actions.
This cross pillar workshop is an excellent example of how EUSAIR cooperation strengthens sustainable development, biodiversity protection and green tourism in one of the region’s most valuable natural areas.
