ADRIONCYCLETOUR: a common and joint cycleways system in the Adriatic-Ionian Region

Online event via EUSAIR Stakeholder Platform | 16 December 2020

We are very glad to invite you to the online Workshop “ADRIONCYCLETOUR: a common and joint cycleways system in the Adriatic-Ionian Region”, organized by Marche Region, as Italian Project Partner of the project “Supporting the Governance of EUSAIR: Facility Point”, in coordination with Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and the Pillar 2 - Transport subgroup, in the framework of WorkPlan2020 activities of EUSAIR TSG2 - transport subgroup.

The event aims at investigating the cycleways planned or currently under development that may be part of the ADRIATIC-IONIAN CYCLE ROUTE, running along the coast of the entire Adriatic-Ionian region, and of their connections with the hinterland in the countries not facing the Adriatic-Ionian basin. Additionally, information will be collected on the technical guidelines for the construction of cycle routes in EUSAIR countries and on the funding currently available for their construction in the project area.

The ADRIONCYCLETOUR project, eligible for being funded by the European Commission and selected as flagship project to be embedded into 2021-2027 programming documents, aims to establish and develop the ADRIATIC-IONIC CYCLE ROUTE (AICYR) which consists of:

  • a cycling route running along the coast of the entire Adriatic and Ionian basin from Italy to Greece, across the EUSAIR concerned Countries (coastal network);
  • its main cycle connections to the hinterland of the EUSAIR countries (inland network).

Further details will follow in due time.
